Passed away peacefully at home, Amelia Mary Colbert, aged 90, on January 25, 2021.  Predeceased by parents Claude and Esther Wicks, husband James Colbert, brothers Herb and Dave, and sister Martha.  Left with a lifetime of fond and loving memories, her son Claude (Judy), daughter Sharon Downey (John), grandchildren Rhonda Colbert (Jeff), Andrea Downey (Dave), Claude Colbert (Mackenzie), Jennifer Downey (Kyle); great grandchildren Kayla Colbert, Hailey Crews, Megan Colbert, Madison Crews, Lily Crews, and Cameron Colbert; sister Claudette Brown (Lloyd), nephews Keith Wicks (Lois) and David Brown, and niece Natasha Parsons (Jason); great nephews Keith Wicks, Kirk Wicks, and Nathan Wicks-Parsons, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the Eastern Health Community Health Nurses Stephanie Power and Theresa Tulk, and Dr. Drover for their exceptional care of Mom over the years, especially in her final months. 

The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, January 28 from 10am-9pm.  Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 29 at 11am with interment to follow in Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Amelia’s memory may be made to the SPCA, Children’s Wish, or a charity of one’s choice.
