Surrounded by her loving family Audrey passed peacefully away on August 7, 2021, after a short illness. Born and raised in Elliston, Trinity Bay, she moved to Toronto and then back to St. John’s where she enjoyed a full career with MUN and was an active member of St. Thomas’ Church.

 

Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Jane Tilley, sister Shirley Ryder, brothers Gerald, Roy, Doug, sister-in-law Betty Tilley, and brother-in-law Calvin Ryder.

 

Dearly remembered by her sisters-in-law Marion and Gertie Tilley.

 

Left with saddened hearts are many nephews and nieces who held her very close – David (Doris), George, Pam (Dave), Cathy (Collis), Brenda (Ken), Barb, Kim (Brian), Jackie (Dennis) and Sue Ann. As well she had 16 grand nieces and nephews and 13 great-grand nieces and nephews. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hillcrest Estates for their care and friendship.

 

Following Audrey’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Visitation will occur Sunday Aug 15 at Carnell’s from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service will be held in their chapel on Monday the 16th at 10am. Streaming service will be available. Internment will take place in Elliston on Tuesday the 17th at 2pm.

 

Donations in Audrey’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

I was saddened to hear about Audrey’s passing. She was a long time and valuable staff member of the Registrar’s Office at Memorial who was admired by all for her work ethic, professionalism and collegial manner. I would like to extend sincere condolences to all her family.

On behalf of the Bishop Jones Memorial Hostel “girls”, of which Audrey was one in 1954-55 while she was a student at Bishop Spencer College, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to all the family. May God Bless and Comfort you in the days ahead as you deal with your loss.

Sorry to hear of Audrey’s passing. I worked with her for many years in the Registrars office at MUN. She was a very nice person to work with and took her job very serious.

so saddened to hear of your loss. I remember Audrey from her days working at Tilley’s store in Elliston. I always remember her convertible parked by the side of the store. A lovely lady indeed.
