Corrine Michelle Doherty

Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Corrine – Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend. She passed peacefully away on her own terms following a short but courageous battle with Cancer. Pre-deceased by her Father Jim Doherty 1980. She is survived by partner Bill Barry, her Mother Vera, Daughter Amanda Schumph, Brother Wayne, Sister and best friend Carol Anne (Randy), Carol Anne’s twin Brother Colin (Brenda), nieces and nephews as well as many relatives and friends. Special thanks to our niece Michelle Doherty who was always there when we needed her the most.

While our hearts are broken we have a lifetime of special memories of Corrine.

A heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at 4 North A, Health Science Centre, St. John’s.

As per Corrine’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted to Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s.  A Memorial service in her memory will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Portugal Cove St. Philips on Monday, June 24th at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to The SPCA would be greatly appreciated.

He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids and said, “Peace be thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.  For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
Corrine brought so much fun, laughter and adventure into my life. These times will be cherished forever.

Thank you Corrine for being such a great childhood friend.

RIP

Thinking of all of you at this difficult time. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as I have the times I’ve spent with Corrine. The ability to see humour in the craziest of circumstances was definitely one of her greatest strengths. It’s so difficult to say good bye to somebody I’ve known and loved since kindergarten. I will always remember her with a smile. I cannot be there in person but please know that my heart is with all of you at this time.

Please accept my deepest condolences and Corrine’s passing.

Many years ago I worked with Corrine, and will always remember her with great fondness. I especially remember how she spoke with such pride and love for Mandy.

Godspeed, Corrine…see ya later.

I am so sorry for your loss.
