Ann and family:
Doris and I are very sorry to hear of David’s unexpected passing.. I first met him in 1958 but didn’t get to know him well until we started planning the Haystack reunion in 1995. It and the second one in 2003 would not have happened without him. David was a very accomplished man in so many ways, – as a businessman, MHA, and cabinet minister, but those of us from Haystack will remember him most for his leadership in our reunions. He was so knowledgeable about all things Placentia Bay, and I will miss our many chats about that. Above all, he was such a good friend.
We are in Alberta visiting our daughter and grandchildren this week and unfortunately will be unable to attend the funeral home and funeral, but our thoughts are with you and the family at this time. May the fond memories of him and the company of friends and family bring you comfort.
Take care….

Condolences Anne Marie and to the family on the passing of Dave. Very sorry to hear this.

Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My sympathy to the family on Dave’s passing. Remembering our trip to Haystack with Dave, Clayton and my cousin Barry several years ago. They made sure Barry saw where his ancestors came from!

My condolences, Ann., to you and your families..Dave was a good friend and a most liked, and a very hard working politician. He accomplished so much for both individuals and the communities he represented. RIP my friend.

As the saying goes, pound for pound, Dave was probably one of the best and most dedicated MHA’s that the south coast has ever had. I had the pleasure of working closely with him during the troubled 90’s and saw, firsthand, the allegiance that he had to the communities that he represented. My condolences to all the family and friends on the sad occasion of Dave’s passing. May he rest in peace. Godspeed.
