Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the late Doreen Ayre (nee: Ford) on October 28, 2018. Born in Essex, England, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ivy (nee: Collins). Beside her parents she was predeceased by husband Wilfrid and brother Mick. Leaving with fond and precious memories are her daughter Elizabeth; grandchildren Caitlin and Rorie; sister Patricia, son in law James, along with a large circle of extended family and those who had the privilege of calling Doreen friend. A Memorial Celebration of Doreen’s life will take place on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm at Kenny’s Pond Retirement Home (135 MacDonald Dr., St. John’s, (709) 738-1611). In keeping with the personal wishes of Doreen, in lieu of flowers donations to a charity of donors choice greatly appreciated. Dear Elizabeth , I’m so sorry to hear that your Mum passed away. I remember her from our childhood ,when I’d come to visit.. I remember her being very pretty and always well dressed! With sincere condolences to you and your family.

Our sincere condolences to Doreen’s family. Gerry and I had some very pleasant times with Doreen and Wilf and I had the pleasure of working with Doreen years ago. She was a kind and fun-loving person.

On behalf of The Crow’s Nest Officers Club I wish to pass on our sincere sympathy to Doreen’s family. I recall Doreen and Wilfred attending many dinners at the Crow’s Nest and I always enjoyed their company.
