So sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. The children and I have very fond memories of Dr. Doug. I’m sure that somewhere he and Roly are telling yarns and having a laugh together. My heart goes out to you at this very sad and difficult time. Know that Meghann, Sara, Ian and I have you in our thoughts.

Dear Marlene, I was shocked to hear of Doug’s passing. It was just a few days ago I was thinking about if I got. Moose licence this year, I intended to bring you out a couple of roasts. He was always so appreciative whenever I had a fry for him. I had been a patient since the early eighties, and he was a miracle worker for me. As well we were friends, always having good and sincere conversations . Loved talking about his nieces, and I remember the “Uncle Dougie” pictures they always drew hanging in prominent places in his office. He always spoke lovingly of them, and of you too.
He was a wonderful man, loving, kind and caring. You have many deep and happy memories, I am sure. These memories and the knowledge that Doug had such a positive impact on thousands of people hopefully will help sustain you through your time of grief. Love to you and the nieces .
In sadness,
John Mackey

Very sorry to the Mallett family for your loss! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

You are missed dead Uncle. Rest In Peace.

Marlene and his family, we were so sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. We are Doug’s cousins in Pembroke, Ontario. We are cousins on the Maloney side of the family, Joe and Margaret Maloney. Doug came to visit the farm with his Mom and Dad, Aunt Josie and Uncle Carl many moons ago in Sheenboro, Quebec. I went to visit Doug while at a conference in St. Johns’s, NF but unfortunately, we were not able to connect. Please accept our sincere condolences. Anita Maloney(Sawyer)

To the family,
Doug was the first Chiropractor I met. Dedicated to his patients of which I was one. He not only made the correct diagnosis when standard medical treatment hadn’t, t worked.
His care kindness left an indelible memory of a wonderful man. I wish to offer my condolences for your loss

Marlene so sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Marlene,
We were saddened to hear about Uncle Doug’s passing. I agree with Michelle that early memories of Doug include long hair, music, lots of stories and discussions including many philosophical questions. As a kid, it intrigued me that Uncle Doug left Alberta for the far-off distant land of Newfoundland. So glad we had the chance to visit both you and Doug in 2010. May his soul now find rest after a long-suffering illness. Thank you too Marlene for the loving care you provided to him. How blessed he was to have a wife like you. Our sincere sympathies, Ted and Christine (Foisy) Erickson

My sincere condolences to you Marlene and the Mallett siblings (Patricia, Jack, Jim and Dennis).
Uncle Doug was certainly a one of a kind! I remember how he made an impression on me when I was a kid- this cool guy with long hair and a beard, guitar in hand, full of neat stories, very playful and interested in us (the Mallett-Foisy grandkids). He always had a twinkle in his eye and seemed to enjoy life to the fullest. I will always remember him! May he rest in peace with our Lord.

Marlene
So sorry to hear of Doug’s passing; a beautiful bright light has been extinguished much too early
Hope you can find comfort from family and friends during this difficult time

May your soul Rest In Peace, my dear uncle Doug (Dr Douglas Mallett – Chiropractor in St John’s NFLD). You were a bright light in my life. You showed me kindness and love always. Always kept in touch and last year when I was facing such adversity in my recovery, you called me faithfully to send love and encouragement. Sending our love to you, Marlene, his faithful wife and loving companion. We share in your grief today. Xoxo 😘

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you
And give you peace.

So sorry for your loss, Marlene..

My sincerest condolences go out to the Mallett family at this time. I’ve only known Doug for a short period of time, but If that was any indication of the type of person he was then I wish I had known him a life time. He laid the ground for us Chiropractors in this province and for that I will always be grateful.

Marlene

So sorry to hear of your loss. Doug was my first chiropractor In 1979. I was a university student and had a car accident that fractured my cervical spine and pelvis. He helped me get through the pain, remobilization, and further care for years until I moved away. He took me under his wing. He befriended my boyfriend ( now husband) and we had the pleasure to hear him play guitar and sing. He was definitely the pioneer of chiropractics in nfld.. many followed but he was the best by far. Sorry for your loss and to hear that Doug battled ms. My thoughts are with the family today. Hold your memories dear to your heart.

My condolences to you, Marlene, on Doug’s passing. As his cousin, I visited him many times on the farm where he grew up in Forestburg, Alberta, and as kids we enjoyed playing baseball, building tree houses, and doing chores that seemed like fun at the time. He was always full of energy, and taught me a lot about farm life. May he rest in peace .

Marlene.
The chiropractic profession has lost a true pioneer with the passing of Dr. Mallett. Doug was a friend to us all and many of the privileges that our province’s chiropractors enjoy today are the result of the perseverance of those such as Dr. Mallett. We are grateful for all he accomplished in his 40 + years of practice. He remains the only chiropractor in NL to have received the esteemed 40 year service award. He will be sadly missed by the many who had the privilege to know him.

On behalf of the members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Chiropractic Association please accept the sincere condolences of his colleagues, friends, and our profession.

Marlene. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.. Hold tight to the many precious memories.

I was so saddened to read that Dr Mallett had passed away. I was one of his first patients. My mom took me to see him many many times first when he was setting up his practice in NL.. He would drive in from Gander to St.John’s , first when I started seeing him then to CBS. We many great conversations . He loved it when mom would bring him her home grown carrots and jam. It was nice to know that he truly cared about his patients, as he often asked about mom and I, when my brother became his client , right up until Dr Mallett retired. Please know that we often speak of him and have a lot of fond memories. I’m truly saddened to hear of his passing.

Marlene, anyone who knew Doug, will never forget him. The way he filled the room with laughter while always having a smile on his face are just some of the many characteristics of Doug that I’m sure I will never forget. Hold on to each one of your memories, for each one has a piece of Doug in side it. He might be gone but he will never be forgotten,
