Obituary
Our much loved husband, dad and grandfather Edgar Clark, age 73 years, passed peacefully away in the arms of his wife and daughter, at the Health Sciences Center, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Gladys Clark; brothers, Maxwell and William; and parents-in-law, Ike and Dot Hussey and sister-in-law, Daphne (Neville) Savoury.
Left with fond and loving memories, loving wife of 50 years, Joyce (Hussey); sons, Rick (Lynn) and Robbie (Amy); daughter, Lisa Ryan (Arthur); grandchildren, Erica, Olivia, Nicholas, Emily, Evan and Amy; brother, Douglas Clark (Sheila – deceased); sister, Mabel Spiece (Lorne – deceased) ; sisters-in-law Martha Clarke, Bernice (Ike) Mercer, Eileen (Harris) Morgan, Ivy (Calvin) Young, and Goldie (Ira) Snow; special cousin, Howard (Sharon) Squires; good friends, Bob Halfyard, Robin Jones, Garfield and Betty Barrett, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
At Edgar’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, on Thursday, January 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Carnell’s Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, January 19 at 2:00 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Edgar’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or St. Philip’s Anglican Church.

With all my sympathy for the loss of someone so cherished. No one better than God, understands the depth of your pain and can help you cope with your disquieting thoughts. I hope that in due time your family receives God’s peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 which reads: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” He promised that in the Paradise, we will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all problems, accidents, and sickness. Even our dead loved ones like Edgar will be resurrected. (Psalm 37:9, 29; John 5:28, 29)
