Ella Barbara Cook

August 4, 1930 to July 2, 2017


Passed peacefully away at home, surrounded by her loved ones.  Ella Barbara Cook in her 87th year.

Predeceased by her Son Gary, Granddaughter Tiffany, Parents John and Rhoda Miller, Parents-in-law Robert and Elsie Cook and many other family members.

Left with fond and cherished memories are her loving husband of 64 years, Herbert.  Cherished Sons and Daughters, Linda (Randy Pearce), Dean (Karen Stacey), Peggy (Mark Callahan), Wanda (Felix Green) and Bradley (Yvonne Bryant).  Grandchildren, Jeff Cook (Cheryl), Craig Cook (Becky Forsey), Neal Pearce, Jillian Cook (Matthew Fardy), Blair Callahan (Adrienne King), Michelle Pearce and Emily Callahan (Andrew Pelley).  Great Grandchildren, Matty Cook, Callie Cook and Rylie Cook.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Edna (Mervin Ashman), Olga (Edward Soper), Robert Cook (Marie), Genny Cook (James deceased), Marilyn Cook and Paul Cook (Theresa).  Neighbours and dear family friends, Wayne, Judy Coffin and Family.  Numerous Nieces and Nephews, special niece, Haley Dwyer and many treasured friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Sharon Ripley, Dr. Joy McCarthy, Dr. Lori Hayward and the nurses and staff at the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.  Doctors, Nurses and staff with palliative care centre, especially Nurse Dawn Clarke.  TLC home care, especially Jackie Brockerville.  Thank you to each and everyone of you, your love and compassion meant so much to Mom and our Family.

As per Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Carnell’s Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Mom has asked that donations be made to the NL Arthritis Society.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of your dear Mother. I remember always seeing you Wanda with your dear Mother and both of you always with smiles on your faces. It broke my heart to hear of Mrs.Cooks passing. some of my fondest memories while I worked at Dominion was chatting to her. When I became friends with Yvonne & Brad she welcomed me to her family with open arms .I’ll never forget her kindness. Rest in Peace Mrs. Cook. Wanda so sorry to hear the sad news. John and I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Mom. I know your Mom as a genuine and loving individual. I can only smile, when I think of her curious and delightful personality: she made our visits so much fun. It was clear she was loved and treasured by so many.
