Evangelia Eliopoulos

March 25, 1948 to April 25, 2021

Obituary

Evangelia passed peacefully away at 73 years old on the 25th of April at the ICU Health Sciences Centre. Leaving to mourn her daughter Maria Doussis (Claudio Baldacchino), son Stelios Doussis (Seamus O’Regan Jr) and grandchildren Jessica, Christopher and Stella Baldacchino. She is predeceased by her parents Theodore and Panagoita.

Evangelia was born in Temini, Greece. She moved to Montreal as a young woman, where she raised her family. She spent her most recent years between Montreal, with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, and St John’s, with her son and son-in-law. She was never a fan of the Newfoundland weather, but she loved the people here and she loved seeing the ocean, which reminded her of her village in Greece.

Evangelia was a strong, proud, and incredibly loving woman. She had a wonderful laugh, and the warmest hug. Family was everything to her. She had raised her two children on her own in a new country, and she was proud to see her family grow and prosper.

Thank you to the dedication of the medical team at the Health Sciences Centre, who treated her with great dignity and care.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will occur in Temini, Greece, once COVID restrictions have been lifted.
