While born and raised in St. Phillip’s, Evelyn made her way to Toronto in her teenage years and was soon to meet her future husband Robert Chesley Clarke, whom she recently celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary with. Evelyn lived a full life which was always filled with fun, from playing Bingo and pulling the lever on a slot machine to heading to Vegas on her girl’s trip. She lived the way she wanted and enjoyed every minute of it.
Evelyn faced every battle in life head on. She had a full heart and a fighting spirit. She will be deeply missed by all of her loved ones.
“Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die. I have sent up my gladness on wings, to be lost in the blue of the sky.”
Sincere thank you to Dr. Stephen Rothstein, long time Doctor in Toronto and Dr. Rorke & the amazing nursing team at the Cancer Centre here in St. John’s. Special thanks to our nurse Fatima and to Dr. Marie Odea and team who helped Evelyn and the family through these difficult days.
Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Home Again Furniture Bank as Evelyn admired any service helping those in need. There will be no service at this time, however messages to the family on this site is most appreciated by all.
