Obituary

Passed peacefully away at Saint Luke’s Homes, St. John’s, on June 8, 2019, in her 97th year, Faith Colley, formerly of Port-aux-Basques and Woody Point, Bonne Bay.  Faith leaves to give thanks for her long and healthy life her daughter Lorna, son-in-law Melvin (Crewe) and grandson Stephen of St. John’s.  She is survived by her brother Joseph Hatcher of Deer Lake, nieces and nephews of the Hatcher and Colley families, and a wide circle of friends and relatives.  Faith was predeceased by her husband Austin (Aut) Colley of Port-aux-Basques; her father and mother, Joseph and Annie (Payne) Hatcher of Woody Point; brothers George, Wallace, Thomas, Eric and Hilary; sisters Hazel, Alice, Edna and Florence; and members of the Hatcher, Payne and Colley families.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of Carnell’s Funeral Home, St. John’s, with inurnment at St. James Cemetery, Barachois Hill, Port-aux-Basques on a later date.  Donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, P.O. Box 178, Port-aux-Basques, NL A0M 1C0.

Lorna, sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom..Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time

Sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. As a young boy, growing up in Channel, I remember going to the old Clement household that Ambrose Colley owned for a birthday party for Robert Martin.
