It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank Clinch announce his sudden passing at home, aged 89 years.

Frank was born June 19, 1931 in Senglea, Malta. He moved to Canada when he was 27 years old. He was the oldest of two children. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is lovingly remembered by Sharon, his wife of 39 years. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson Aaron. He also thoroughly enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking for his family and friends. He loved being outside watching birds while being surrounded by nature. Gardening was not a passion of his, however, he truly adored flowers in full bloom, especially carnations and roses. He loved his years in Ontario spending his summers swimming and fishing in Lake Scugog and Georgian Bay. He was always ready to have a good time and could spend hours on the dance floor. His grandson Aaron was his entire world since he was born in 2018. One of his greatest joys as of late has been to sit in the back yard listening to music showing Aaron some dance moves.

Frank is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Recketta Clinch; his sister Lillian Attard (Larry, deceased); his first wife Theresa Clinch; daughter-in-law Jean Clinch (Mario); nephew Keith Samson; and brother-in-law Lorne Keats (Betty).

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sharon; son Mario (Jean, deceased); daughter Amanda Samson (Adam); and his grandson Aaron Samson.

Also leaving to mourn are his parents-in-law Cecil and Ruby Keats; brother-in-law Clayton Keats (Rosalind); sisters-in-law Brenda Humber (Keith), Carolyn Samson (Jim), Sylvia Blake (Brian); as well as 3 cousins, 5 nieces, 6 nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Megan Robbins, the emergency responders, and to the staff of Carnell’s Funeral Home.

Visitation to take place from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., on Saturday, June 5th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm. A funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 7th at 11am with inurnment to follow at a later date.

Flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice.

Aunt Sharon, Mario, Amanda, Adam & Aaron,

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Uncle Frank was such a fun and loving man. I will treasure times spent together on the lake in Ontario, at our homes in Halifax and of course, back home in NL. I will miss his cooking, his cheeky sense of humour and my ever steady dance partner. Thinking of you all during this difficult time and wishing I could be there to support you in your grief. Sending you much love today and always.
