Words are inadequate to express my sadness about the loss of your dear brother. I only met George a few short years ago when I became involved at the cathedral but he became an instant friend. I will miss him too. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all the family!

The Day Family,

I (Harry) was shocked and saddened to read today of George’s early passing. We spent many years teaching together. George was a man of great faith. He possessed a quick wit and a keen sense of humour. He will be fondly remembered. As he would say, “You are at peace now with your Saviour my son.”

So sad to hear of George’s passing. George and I taught together for many years. We became great friends. Although we didn’t stay in touch after retirement I still have many fond memories of the time we spent together; his great voice, especially “The Fields of Athenry” his sense of humor, his kind heart and work ethic. I will always remember you George. Rest in peace my friend.
