Passed away suddenly Jack Hill at the age of 70 years, predeceased by his parents Bon and Vina Hill and infant sister Margaret. Leaving to mourn his devoted and cherished wife Fran (nee Rodgers), much loved daughters Carla (Sheldon Hann) and Jackie (Joey Everard), stepsons Troy and Adam, adored grandchildren Alex, Mark, Jacob, Peyton, Matthew and Cole. Also leaving to mourn sister Martha (Rod Mullett), brothers Aubrey (Ruby), Edgar (Bernice) and Carl, Jack will also be missed by a large circle of family and friends. A devoted husband, loving father, and best Poppy, Jack will be missed by everyone he knew, and everyone whose lives he touched. Jack started his hockey career at the age of 15 with PWC and “scrapped” his way through the Guards and eventually to the St. John’s Caps. Jack loved sports and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him would appreciate the fact that in his final hours he watched his Leafs win in a shut out. The family wishes to thank the Cardiac Care Team at the Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care and compassion. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, November 26 from 7-9pm, and Tuesday November 27 from 2-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 28 at 1pm. Flowers gratefully accepted, or as per Jack’s wishes, donations may be directed to his wife Fran.

Family of Jack
We were teammates with the Caps many years ago and I am sure I speak for those who played with him over the years that he was an excellent member of all the teams on which he played.
He always came to play and gave a good effort every night.
It seems he had a happy life – bit too short but that’s not an easy one to call .
His family are in the thoughts of his many friends at this time .
May he rest peacefully.
