Obituary
Age 40 years of St. John’s, NL passed peacefully away with his fiancé, Melanie by his side at the Pallative Care Unit on February 12, 2021 after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his grandparents Clarence & Edna Steele and Warren & Shirley Hunt, his uncles Larry Steele & Dale Hunt and cousin Matthew Legge.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories, his fiancé, Melanie, his 3 beautiful children, Mikayla, Kody (Their mom Ashley Power) and Logan. His parents Raymond (Judy) Steele and Selena (Kevin Kerwin) Hunt. His brother, Jeremiah (Sara) of Lewisporte, sister, Marigold of Calgary, AB and stepbrother, Justin (Ashley) Crocker. His nieces & nephews whom he adored, Ryley, Ainsley, Havy Jo, Max, Silas, Mia, Kiera, Brielle and Emerson. Melanie’s parents, Ann Marie & David Ward, Her siblings, Blair, Michael (Sarah) and Karen (Jordan). As well as a large circle of family and friends.
God’s Garden
God looked around the garden,

He looked down upon the earth,

He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
be well on earth again.

To say that we feel your grief, would not be totally true. to be able to empathize with you, entirely true. the loss of a love one is only felt the way that you experience it, when it happens to you. The loss is extremely difficult; the outcome is the source of reassurance. I know that James was a peace with God. conversations with you have told of the intimate communion between Father (Ray), Son(james) and with God. during the last weeks and days. Having worked with James for a number of years, I can say he was a good worker and a great leader. He taught me a lot of the business, and encouraged me in so many ways to make me feel valued and appreciated. Good days and bad days, I remember them all fondly.
Melanie, thank you and James so much for inviting me into your home; sharing lots of laughs, drinks and good food around the fire. I will keep those memories forever in my heart. My heart goes out to you, your family, and your kids that James always talked about and was so proud of.
