Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at the Health Science Center, James John Whalen of St. Thomas Line, aged 71. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Eileen Whalen; brothers Tom, Leo (Sandra), Paul, Gerard, Pat, and Loyola; brother-in-law Bert Eddy; and nephew Scott Whelan. Leaving to mourn his dedicated daughter Leona (Neil) Parsons; son Loyola; the love of his life , his darling grandson , Byron Parsons; brothers John (Lorraine), Len (Florence); sisters Mary, Lorraine (Mike), Linda; nieces Tina (Greg), Shelley (Rodney), Lisa (Mike)Brenda (Ian), Tammy (Derrick), Tracey (Tony) and Fallon; nephews, Paul (Mary), Timmy, and Tony; his long time friend Mary Walsh; his roommate Walter Sullivan of Glenbrook Lodge; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to my mom Kay Moores for all of her help and support during his illness, as well as the doctors and staff at Glenbrook Lodge, and 4 South A, at the Health Science Center. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 from 10 a.m – 9 p.m, and Sunday, January 10th, 2016 from 10 a.m – 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be at the Holy Family Parish, with interment to follow in the Holy Family Cemetery, St. Thomas Line. Flowers will gratefully be accepted, or donations in his memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
