Obituary

Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 Joan Phillips, age 91. Predeceased by her husband Fred, infant son, father Levi (Shotty) Rogers and mother Mary Jane Rogers, sisters Priscilla Ledrew (Bob), Vi Parsons (Frank), Stella Howell (Ralph), Louise Churchill (Les), Mabel Crawford (Sandy), Phyllis Guthrie (George), brothers Chesley Rogers, and Harold Rogers (Myrtle) and Maxwell Rogers, father and mother-in-law George and Nellie Phillips, sister-in-law Doreen Nightingale (George), brothers-in-law James Phillips (Jean) and George Phillips (Marina). Leaving to mourn sons Doug and wife Wendy, Tom and wife Pam, grandchildren Geoffrey (Sherri), Jason (Kim), Bradley (Glenda), Douglas (Joanne), great-grandchildren Shaelyn, Kyle, Joel, Jenna, Serena, Noah, Parker, Maggie, Jack, Ashton, Ella and Josh. Also leaving sisters-in-law Ivy Rogers, Margorie Rogers and Helen Phillips and a large number of nieces, nephews, extended families and friends. Many thanks to the staff at Agnes Pratt for their compassionate care during the past two years, and also many thanks to Admirals Coast Retirement Centre for their care of our mother. At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Agnes Pratt Foundation or Mazol Shriners.

Dear Tom, Doug and Families,
So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have fond memories of her as one of the neighbourhood mothers when we were all young children on Allandale Road. And of course, I remember her as the “Bowling Queen”! My thoughts are with you.
