Obituary
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family, on August 8, 2018 at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Center, after a brief but very courageous battle, Keith Russell Downs, in his 57th year.
Predeceased by parents Maxwell and Agnes Downs and in laws Helen and Gerald Goulding.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories his wife Linda; daughter Jillian (Travis); precious grandson Evan; devoted brother Max; fur friends Chewy and Belle; sisters in law Debbie and Beverly; brother in law Gerald; very special friends Joanne and Garry Miller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his co-workers from the Health Sciences Center.
Special thank you to Carmel Collins, his palliative care nurse, whose support and caring made all the different over the last year; the doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre and the doctors and nurses at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Clinic; as well as special neighbours Stacy and Cliff Mouland.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 13 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Cancer Care Foundation.

To all of Keith’s family and friends…it was so sad to hear of him being sick and now of passing……I got to know him from working at the hospital…a good man..gone too soon…my thoughts and prayers to all of you….he will be watching over you all from above….

My condolences to Keiths family. I worked with Keith from time to time in the OR at the health science center. He will be missed.

I will remember Keith as a very kind and generous person. He was quiet and soft spoken and was always there to help if you needed him. I had the privilege to work with Keith inside and outside of the hospital and never heard him have a bad word to say. We have definitely lost a beautiful soul. You will be missed my friend. Rest in Peace buddy.

Keith Downs was a wonderful person, a friend to all who knew him, always shared a smile and quick to lend a hand to anyone. He faced his illness with strength and courage. He was an inspiration to us all.
His work family will always remember him with a smile and his memory will live on with us forever.
