Obituary

The family of the Late Leslie George Janes of Britannia, Random Island, is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 74.

Pre-deceased by his parents, George and Blanche (Duffett) Janes, his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Annie Burry and brother-in-law, Woodrow Burry.

Left to mourn, his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth (Burry), his children; Woodrow (Tammy), Clifford (Lisa), Tony (Tammy) and Lori (Adam); his grand-daughters Natalie and Lauren; his brother Fred (Letha, niece and nephew Joy and Darryl and their families).  Also, many cousins and other family members from the Janes and Duffett families, his many friends  back home and his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in the Burry family.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff of the HSC, 4 North B.  Your care and compassion for Dad throughout his 4 month stay is very much appreciated and not gone un-noticed.  Also, thank you to Carnell’s Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism.

As per his request, cremation has taken place and there will no visitation or service at this time.  Donations in Dad’s memory can be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, The Janeway Children’s Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Les. I have many memories of him when I would visit. His quiet manner and his laugh will be remembered. Hoping your many memories will bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead. You are in our thoughts during this time.

Wood, Tammy, Natalie and Lauren, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Janes was a kind, caring and gentle person who will be missed by all that knew him. He loved Natalie and Lauren so much “Pop’s Queens”. Always nice to see him and your mom when they visited you. Please pass my condolences to your mother for me.
