Viola,
I’m so sorry for your loss of Louise.

I just learned of her passing today.

I almost felt as if I knew her from hearing you talk about her. May she rest in peace.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Louise Major. I met Louise the day she moved into Bonaventure Retirement Home. It might have been called Margaret’s Manor at the time. Her room was directly across the hall from my Mom’s who passed away in December of 2016. I was struck instantly by her ferocious spirit. She and my Mom were cut from the same cloth. Both had been nurses. Both were also hard-headed, no-nonsense and before ill health fiercely independant in attitude and approach to daily life. Louise, like my mother was also very charming. I enjoyed many chats with her, often while fixing her Cd player. Sometimes i think she deliberately messed up the player’s settings just so I would promise to come by and have a look at it and hang out in her room. She enjoyed it when I told her what a ‘fox’ was was in her nurse uniform photo often replying, “and still am”. She kept an eye on my Mom who suffered a four year battle with dementia and kept me looped in on her behaviour. I had absolute trust in Louise’s comments and she would often be party to my struggles helping my Mom just by her simple presence, empathy and support.. I went to visit her a few times the year after my mom had passed and she told me she still misses her. I want her family to know she made a differnce in my life during a most difficult period. May she rest in perfect peace.

Viola, sending condolences to you and your family for the loss of your sister. Cherish your memories
