Obituary

With broken hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Martha was gentle, kind, and loving.  She lived her life with generosity of spirit and faith. Our lives are forever changed; we will cherish our memories with her forever.

Martha  leaves to mourn her loving husband of 32 years, Lester; her devoted daughters, Kathy (Stephen Sears), Kim (David Clarke); her doting grandchildren, Mark Sears (Shawna Foley), Jillian Clarke, Mitchell Sears and Adam Clarke;  her sweet great-grandson, Jayden Thomas Sears;  sisters Violet (Alex), Margaret and Ann; brothers Joe (Ann), Andrew and Jerry;  sister-in-laws Ellen, Marilyn (Jordan), Ida ( Murray), June( Frank), Dolly (Donny), and brother-in-laws John, Jimmy, David (Blanche), Dawson (Trudy), Jimmy (Jim); as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Martha was predeceased by her parents Richard and Violet Druken; Kathy and Kim’s Dad Mark; sisters Mary, Alice and Kathleen; brothers Tom, Richard, Jim and John; sister –in-law Ruby (Gerard).

Martha’s family will be visiting with friends and relatives, Monday, June 24th from 10 am to 9 pm at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road.  A Memorial service in her memory will be held at The Carnell Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, June 25th at 10:00 am.  Interment to follow at St. George’s non-denominational cemetery, Thursday, June 27th at 2:00 pm.

Dear Lester, Kim, Cathy and family.
Our hearts are broken to hear of Martha’s passing and so deeply sorry for your loss. Martha was so special to us all and she had so many beautiful qualities.
We loved her sincerity, her kind and loving heart and her beautiful spirit. We will miss her deeply. We are thinking so much of you all at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Martha’s husband Lester, family and all those who loved this gentle lady.

Martha was always a great friend and I have stayed a few nights with her and Lester in St George’s !!
Always would share what they had for supper and always interested in our friends far and wide !!

Word can’t express how sad we are for the loss of such a beautiful lady! Martha had so many qualities that we would all hope to aspire. Her smile on the outside but most importantly her inward smile because of her love for serving God! She was gentle, kind and she was a beautiful example of a Christlike spirit.
