Obituary

Passed peacefully but unexpectedly in the presence of her loving family on November 15th, 2017, Martha Benson, age 78. Predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Benson, parents George and Theresa Cooper, parents-in-law Gilbert and Elizabeth Benson, and 8 siblings. Leaving with fond and loving memories her children Glenys (Paul) Tucker, Sandra (Bill) Evans, Rodger (Lisa) Benson, and Hilda (Mike) Boone; grandchildren Steven, Stacey (Jeff), Glenys, Nicole, Brittany, Cherry-Lynn, Cassidy, Zoey, and Callie; great-granddaughter Julia; sisters Myrtle Peddle and Violet Piercey (Bob); and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 from 7 – 9 p.m, Friday, November 17th, 2017 from 10 – 9 p.m, and Saturday, November 18th, 2017 from 10 – 12 noon. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Adam’s Avenue on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at 2 p.m, with interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Sandra, Roger, Hilda and family. So sorry to hear about Aunt Mart’s passing. I remember going to visit her with dad either in town or down to house in Norman’s Cove. She always had a big smile and a hug. May she rest peacefully aunt it’s Uncle Gord, Nan and Pop and the rest of her siblings.
