My sincere sympathy to the family of Mary Thorne, a remarkable woman! She will also be missed as a great historian of Portugal Cove.

Helen and Reg, I was saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. I knew your mother from working at Newfoundland Power and after she retired she kept in touch especially when she was selling tickets or cold plates for her charity. She was a wealth of knowledge especially when she realized I was related to the Churchill’s in Portugal Cove. I’m now retired and moved away from the province. I called her after we were settled and it was nice to chat and reminisce. Please accept my deepest condolences.

To Mary’s family,
I am very sorry for your loss, I did not know her well but I can tell by the love and dedication that her family had for her that she was a special lady. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Reggie, Helen and families
Sincere condolences on the passing of your mother, grandmother. Even though it is difficult to lose a mother it is a blessing to know that her suffering has ended. We are presently on vacation and will be unable to attend the funeral but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. RIP Aunt Mary.

Reg and Lynn, my condolences on the passing of your Mom and Mother-in-Law. Over the years, many times I saw her walking along the road or attending functions.
