Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Monday, March 20, Mary Harris, 1930-2017, formerly of Barr’d Islands, Fogo Island. Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Leslie Harris; her parents William B. and Mary Ann (Brown) Hewitt; her parents-in-law Capt. James and Rachel (Bishop) Harris; brothers Archibald Hewitt, Elias Hewitt, Uriah Hewitt, Ralph Hewitt and James Hewitt; sisters Lucy Sceviour and Phyllis Peckford. Leaving to mourn sisters Elsie (Steve) Coffin, Trixie (Raymond) Heath and Joyce (Nehemiah) Cobb; brothers Ronald Hewitt and Andrew (Ruby) Hewitt; brothers-in-law Norman (Inez) Harris, Reginald Peckford and Bill Sceviour; sisters-in-law Florence Hewitt and Jean Harris; as well as a large circle of nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 from the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m., with interment to follow in Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the SPCA.

We were so saddened by Aunt Mary’s passing, and extremely sorry we couldn’t be with you all during this time. We have many beautiful memories of time spent with an amazing lady whom we all adored. Thinking of you.
