Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Cook (nee Burry).
Nancy is predeceased by her mother and father, Georgina and Cecil Burry, who lovingly raised her in Portugal Cove. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Ross Cook; her three loving children: Donald (Amanda), Rodney, and Curtis (Michelle); her sister Elizabeth (Frank) Langille and brother Ian (Debbie) Burry, and her grandchildren: Kaylea, Chelsea, Declan, Jenna, Tristan, and Leila. She also leaves many special memories with her extended family and friends, especially her cousin Gina (Mark) Hoey and her Aunt Becky (Max) Littlejohn.
Nancy was a bright and beautiful young woman, who was a cherished sister and daughter. As she grew, she became a loyal wife, a dedicated mother, and a proud grandmother. She devoted her life to family and happily worked by her husband’s side on the Cook’s family farm, Golden Ridge Farm. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like an afternoon drive to town or an ice cream sundae. And Nancy had a smile that could brighten any day.
The family is forever grateful to the health care professionals that showed compassion for Nancy during her cancer treatment and palliative care. They would especially like to thank Dr. Brent Tompkins and Dr. Erin Powell.

The Cook family. I was saddened on hearing of Nancy’s passing. Nancy and I became good friends when she worked with me on many Provincial Elections. I enjoyed the time spent with her.. She was a very easy person to work with. RIP. Nancy.

Ross & family: I went to College of North Atlantic with Nancy and Fred went to High School with her; he also spent lots of good times with your family and his when he was younger. Though we only meet a few times in the past couple of decades, we did spend a lot of time together when our kids were young and we lived in Portugal cove. Nancy was a dear sweet person and she always greeted us with a smile and a friendly chat. I can only imagine how devastated her family are at loosing her.
