Veronica and family,

Sincere condolences on Paul’s passing. A true family man for whom all of you were his greatest joy.
It’s been about twenty years since I received a call from Paul inviting me to join the Seabase team to work on the White Rose project. His personality was such that the work place was always productive, but never stressful. It was Paul who introduced me to curling. The annual OTS bonspiels were always a great time. Thanks in large part to Paul, the Wheels and Deals extravaganzas were always highly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed.
May you take comfort in your wonderful memories.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. We went to school together at St Michael’s, and again at Bishops. He was a quiet ,gentle person. I ran into him several months ago at costco for the first time in 40 years a.nd although we had both aged, I recognized him right away. It was so nice to have the opportunity to reconnect, talk about our kids and grandchildren. He was still that very likeable kind person that I remembered from school A very nice person. Condolences to all

Denah- Barb and I send our prayers and condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Godspeed to your dad !!

I first met Paul in the early 1990’s at the Rotary Club of St. John’s East, where we were both founding charter members.

I knew him as a pleasant and contributing club member and a friendly table mate at breakfast.
I also grew to know him, in his management of Seabase, as a good customer for over twenty years.

But mostly I knew him as the “Patron Saint of Wheels ‘n Deals”, the club’s annual fundraising event. He, through Seabase, with the offshore community and his circle of friends, were critical to the success of our first Wheels ‘n Deals. It lasted for 15 successful years, but his support guaranteed the event came to life in the first place.

And he came through EVERY YEAR !!! He purchased over FIFTY shares in the event every single year, as well as making significant prize and cash donations. In my capacity as chair of Wheels ‘n Deals three times, and part of the organizing/staging group, I can honestly say that Wheels ‘n Deals – and our Rotary club itself – would not have been the same without Paul Locke.
Rotary’s top award for distinguished contribution is the Paul Harris Fellowship. The club presented one to him at the start of one Wheels ‘n Deals evening in the early 2000’s, much to his surprise. But he deserved one every year!

Great Rotarian. Good customer. All round nice guy. What better can you say about anyone?
Don Lane.
