Raymond David Mercer

September 8, 1934 to March 1, 2017


MERCER, Raymond David – Passed peacefully away on March 1st, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre in his 82nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 50 years, Millicent (nee Tucker). His children, daughter Carol (Darren Comerford) and son David. Grandchildren Mitchell Comerford and Rebecca Comerford. Sister in laws Mildred Mercer and Margaret Mercer. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Rebecca Mercer; his parent in laws Peter and Mildred Tucker; siblings Elizabeth, Ronald, Wilfred, Hubert, Hilda, and Robert; brother in law Malcolm Tucker.  The family would like to thank the staff of 4 South A for their care and attention in his final days. Special thank you to Dr. Renée Lester, Dr. Sam Babak, Dr. Karen Downton, and Dr. Ahmed Bashaga for their care and support. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation on Friday, March 3rd from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday March 4th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral to held on Sunday, March 5th at 2 p.m. from St. Philip’s Anglican Church. Interment to follow in St. Philip’s Anglican Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to St. Philip’s Anglican Church.

Millicent and Family,
Our prayers and condolences to you and all the family at this time of great loss of your loved one, Ray. We have many fond memories of Ray and all the Mercer family, and the Tucker family growing up on Thorburn Road, and Bennett’s Road. We give Ray back to God, and in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life in Christ. “May his rest be in peace, and his dwelling place be in the Paradise of God.” Amen.
