Rev. Eugene P. Abbott

ABBOTT, REV. EUGENE P. Age 74 years. Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in the presence of his family on June 23, 2016. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Cheryl (nee Penney), sons Chris (Janice), Keith (Catherine) and daughter Karen (Geoffrey), grandchildren Euan and John Abbott, brothers Leonard (Shirley), Neville and Brent, sister-in-law Andrea Squires, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Eugene served in many Anglican Parishes in Newfoundland from 1965 to 1996 including the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, where he met the love of his life Cheryl, Pushthrough, White Bay, Harbour Breton, Indian Bay, Bonavista and Portugal Cove. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, June 25th from 7 – 9 pm and Sunday, June 26th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.
