To Beulah and family
I am sorry to hear about Mr Inkpens passing. So many of my fondest life memories included him- at the Gards home on XMAS eve, at every gathering with Erna and Walter – such a gentleman and interesting man. I was fortunate to have crossed his path over the years. May you all take comfort in knowing how many people treasured him— Brenda Galway and Peter Noel

To Beulah and Family
So very sorry to read of Roland’s passing. He was a perfect Gentleman in every scene of the word. I first met Roland while he worked at Bowring’s and our friendship continued through the years at Wesley where I assumed his duties as Church Treasurer about 17 years ago. I still recall Roland’s calls to me for quite sometime after I took over from him. He always had the familiar question : “How are things going Wayne?” He continued to be concerned and his love for Wesley will never be matched.

I still recall the trips ‘down the bay’ to Brigus for the cook up on the Shalloway – many ‘prrecious memories’

Rest in Peace Roland, you have earned it

Continue on Beula with many happy memories

Our families share a long and wonderful kinship. My parents Erna and Walter, placed Roland and Beulah on a pedestal reserved for the most integral of trusted friends, deep, true, and standing the test of time and circumstance. I will always be appreciative of their respect and support of the Groves/ Gard family. My experiences with “Mr Inkpen” ( Aka we lovingly called ”Roly” at Bowring are enriched with his many stories he shared reflecting his pride in the accomplishments and his children and grandchildren. All that is good surely lives on.

Roland clearly earned the respect and love of those who knew him. A good man who led a good life–he will be missed.
