Obituary

Passed peacefully away on November 16, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by her loving family, Ruby Bartlett, (nee Woolridge) aged 88 years. Predeceased by husband of 65 years, Douglas Bartlett, mother Louise Woolridge, father Arthur M. Woolridge, and brother Arthur N. Woolridge. Leaving behind with wonderful memories, daughter Rosalind Bartlett; son Kenneth Bartlett (Beverly); grandchildren: Andrew Hawthorn (Ainsley), Cynthia Rushton (Matthew), Keith Bartlett (Susan) and Glenn Bartlett (Stephanie); great grandchildren: Caleb Rushton, Annabelle Rushton and Abigail Bartlett; sisters: Joan Genge (Rev. Canon David, deceased) and Marjorie Morgan (Gordon); brother Roy Woolridge (Shirley); sisters-in-law: Elaine Woolridge (Arthur, deceased), Betty Bartlett (Tom, deceased) and Joan Bartlett (John, deceased); also a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ruby was a devoted wife and mother who took great joy in providing a happy home for her family and supporting their many activities and achievements. She was a founding member of the St. Mary’s Company C.L.B. Ladies Auxiliary and an active participant in her church community. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Health Sciences Centre, 4 South B and the Orthopedic Surgical Team for their compassionate care. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, November 19th. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Logy Bay Rd., with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Rd.

It broke my heart to hear about your mom. Ruby was the sweetest little lady .I always enjoyed our chats and our hugs. She would always tell me to “rest and have a good night ” but ” I’ll be happy to see you tomorrow ”
Every day she would ask ” Do I look presentable ? ” God love her she took great pride in her indendance and always looking her best .
She sure is missed by all of us lucky enough to be in the presence of such a classy lady .

It was with great sadness that we received the news of Aunt Ruby’s passing. We wish we could be there to offer our support but please know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
