Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Brampton Civic Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2017 surrounded by her family, Ruth Bernice Yvonne Penney (Kean) age 73 years. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Priscilla Kean and brother Edward Gordon. Left to celebrate her life, her husband Harold; daughter Lisa (John); son Scott; 4 grandchildren John-Bryce, Aaron, Mackenzie and Emma; her mother in law Drucilla; her brothers Sterling (Beverly), Cecil (Cathy) and their families; her sister in law Shirley (Ivan) and brother in law Clyde (Valerie) and their families; other relatives and friends. Visitation at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd, St. John’s, on Thursday, May 18 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral service at the Memorial United Church in Portugal Cove will be held on Friday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m., with the burial to follow at the United Church Cemetery on Bauline Line Ext. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to The Brampton Civic Hospital – Oncology-Palliative floor.

We are all grieving the loss of Aunt Ruth. She will be missed by all of us and although it was difficult to say goodbye, we know we will see her again.
