Obituary

Passed peacefully away, in the presence of family, on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Chancellor Park long term care facility, St. John’s, NL,  at the age of 93 years.

Predeceased by her husbands Pearce Alcock and Alan LeGrow; son Donald Alcock; parents Frances and Henry Hutchings; sister Geraldine; and brothers Leighton, Wilbert, Donald and Eric.  Leaving to mourn her daughter Karen; sons Robert (Marion);  Douglas (Debbie) and David (Denise);  granddaughters Robyn and Stephanie; grandsons Rodney, Randy, Corey, Brian and Colin; great grandchildren Ethan, Olivia, Lucas, Jacob and Cameron; sister Molly as well as extended family and friends.

Ruth graduated from the General Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.  After graduating, Ruth spent many enjoyable years working as a nurse.

At Ruth’s request, cremation has taken place at Carnell’s Funeral Home on Freshwater Road, St. John’s with a private family interment to take place at a future date.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Chancellor Park for their care and compassion over the past 4 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
