It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we say goodbye to a loving mom, Nanners, Nan, Sister and sister-in-law. Passed peacefully away at the age of 84 years old, Shirley Collins (Auchinleck).

Predeceased by her loving husband Reginald Walter Collins, Daughter Karla Hepditch, Grandson Kiefer Hepditch, son-in-law Brian Kenny, parents Hugh and Rose (Dwyer), Sister Joan Connolly (Gerry), Brother Austin; Brother in-laws Wayne and Harold; Sister in-laws Alma, Debbie.

Leaving to mourn with memories to last a life time, Daughter Tanis Kenny; Grandchildren: Stacey Denine (Matt), Jason Kenny, Codie Hepditch; Great Grandchildren: Addyson and Emma Rae Denine who she loved and adored. Brothers: Carl, Alexander (Helen), Hugh, Robert, John (Shelby), Christopher; Sisters: Barbara Bailey and Genevieve Hall; Along with a close circle of family and friends.

A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Ruby Manor Retirement Home for the loving care and compassion they provided. Our Nan never looked for praises, she was never one to boast, and she worked hard for the ones she loved the most. Her dreams were seldom spoke and her wants were few. She was the firm foundation, through all our storms of life, a sturdy hand to hold on to. A true friend we could turn to when times were good or bad, one of our greatest blessings was the woman we called Nan.

Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, April 21 between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM and then 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Due to Covid-19 regulations the funeral service will be for immediate family only. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to The Gathering Place in Shirley’s name.

To the Collins and Auchinleck families.
I am so sorry to read that Shirley passes away. I can remember her when we both lived in Dowdens Lane back when we were all children! She was definitely the Lady of the Lane! I met her again at her Sisters funeral at Cauls a couple of years ago, She was still very much the Beautiful Person I remember from our Young life.
Rest In Peace Shirley.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all .at this very sad time .

Shirley was an amazing woman and I know I would not have gotten through my nan’s (alma) wake without her and her sister in law Helen. I hate to see her go but she has left a legacy of kindness and support behind her that will make sure she is never forgotten. May she rest easy after all that she has been through. I will remember her and her kindness and love for those around her for the rest of my life and I know that others will as well. I wish Tanis and Stacy and all of her other loved ones my greatest condolences, I know what a huge loss this is but know that her love for you will go on forever.
