A beautiful lady has returned to her Heavenly Father. Love and prayers to all the Greeley family. John 14: 1-4 “Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly. And you know where I am going and how to get there.”

Sincere Condolences to Keith, Alma & all the Greeley family .

If there was ever a person in Portugal Cove that deserved special recognition and the closest to a State Funeral as can be provided I would have to say it is Susie Greeley. When we moved to the Cove thirty- two yrs ago she was the first person I met. She rang our doorbell while we were eating supper, I opened the door, looked in her face and said OMG Aunt Beatie, then I laughed and said you have to be Susie Greeley, then she laughed too and told me she was colllecting for the United Church Garden Party and as they say the rest is history.
I learned so much from Susie in our time together over the years that I could write a book and I know she was a very tough and determined lady especially when it came to her church but I think I would be right in saying that very few people anywhere have ever contributed more time and energy to a church and a community as Susie Greeley and I hope we all remember that when we are making a donation to the church in her memory because as she said to me on many occasions and I am sure to many other people over her years of endless fundraising efforts when we claimed we were unable to contribute baked goods etc for the church sales “well all monetary donations greatly appreciated”. Lol
There are not a lot of peop,e that have had such a positive and profound effect on my life as my darling friend Susie because she taught me so much, for example how important and rewarding it is to be an active and contributing member of a church and a community. I will always remember with love and respect this special lady as someone who was always there to be a friend when needed..
Susie adored her family and was so proud of each and everyone of them, they could do no wrong in her eyes, and they were maybe the only thing more important to her than her church. I always admired how she was as much a part of her grandchildren’s lives as if they were her own children and she didn’t mind telling me how proud she was of them how andmuch she thought about and supported each one of them in her own unique way.
I will stop now and finish my cry because as Susie always told me ” there is nothing wrong with a good cry, it is very cleansing but then when you are done pick up and move forward” So to all of Susie’s Family today I will tell you all that she would want you guys to do the same thing, have your cry but then “move forward” and get on with your life, take good care of your families and never never forget the wonderful and special Mother that you were all so Blessed to have.
She will live on in our hearts forever and may she enjoy her hard earned and well deserved rest. My love and prayers are with you all and God Bless!
PS. “Susie we will forever miss your delicious dinner rolls”. ????????????

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Wish we could be there with you. Take care and God Bless.

Thoughts & prayers are with you on the passing of your mom.

My deepest sympathy to the Greeley family I remember your mother as such a sweet lady. My sister Sheila Parrell was on the same unit as your mom until she was moved to the third floor. Your mom would sit with us sometimes and was a very quiet and gentle lady. I hope your happy memories will help you through this difficult time. Again my condolences.
