It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne King at the Miller Centre surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and proud hockey teammate to many. Leaving all with a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Wayne is survived by the love and joy of his life, wife Susan (nee Pike); daughters Jennifer (Phil) Barrington and Ashley (Sean) Kennedy; cherished grandchildren Hannah, Hailey, Nate and Claire. Also leaving to mourn his loving and always supportive family, mother Lorraine King, siblings Beverly (Steve) Harris, Wendy King (Bruce Gorman), Darren (Jennifer Earl-King) King and Ed (Brenda) King. Nieces and nephews Kirsten Harris, Chelsea Harris (Julian Kean), Melissa (Andrew) Cooper, Lori (Brent) Payne, Katie Earl-King, Jordan (Amanda) King and Zachary (Mandy) King.
Special thanks to our dear friends who were ever present and supportive over the last 15 months who made possible and shared with us special moments and memories. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Colleen Kirby, Dr. Natasha Pardy and Charlene Downey for their superb care and just as important their kindness and compassion. Thank you as well to the wonderful staff of HSC ATU, 4 North A and the Palliative Care team at the Miller Centre.
Following COVID-19 restrictions, the family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., on Wednesday, January 13th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00. A funeral service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 14 at 1:00PM by invitation only. The funeral will be live streamed for those who are not able to attend.
