Elaine, Leigh, Matthew and families,

So shocked and saddened to receive word of Wayne’s untimely passing.. It seems like such a short time ago, in the summer of ‘71, that Wayne visited Rocky Harbour with a mutual friend of ours and we became lifelong friends. He was my close friend throughout our university days, especially our time at Blackhall House where we resided.

Always looked forward to visiting you all in St. John’s and only recently we were reviewing some older albums of your visit to Gros Morne with Leigh and Matthew and our many hikes, especially to Western Brook Pond.

It’s always sad losing a loved one, especially when it’s unexpected. You have all lost not only a husband, father and grandfather, but a loyal friend, as well. Your hearts will always remind you of his presence.

We will be in contact in the next few days to chat and share more memories of a friendship that has endured all those years.

Again, our sincere sympathies.

Elaine, So sorry to hear the news of Wayne’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Danny Neil and Rachael Cooper Neil
