William (Bill) Edward Andrews

December 4, 1936 to February 19, 2021

Obituary

Bill passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex in St. John’s at the age of 84.  He is predeceased by his Father, Henry and Mother, Emma (nee Taylor).   Leaving to mourn; his wife of 58 years Shirley (nee Bishop), sister Ramona Tucker (Clayton), sisters-in-law Marina North and Cammie Bishop and a large extended family and circle of friends. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Mrs. Andrews, I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I knocked on your door hundreds of times to “collect” as your Evening Telegram paper boy in the late seventies and early eighties. I was always greeted warmly and recall your husband’s smile as if it were yesterday. Very best regards from Owen Sound, Ontario.

Had many good times with Bill in the Hardware department back in the late 70’s. He had the respect and friendship of the whole staff with his good spirit and easy going manner.

He’ll be missed by all who knew him

Mrs Andrews, So very sorry to hear of Mr Andrews passing . I have many fond memories of him growing up on Lomac Road. When he worked at Woolco he was able to get me my first cabbage patch doll when I was a little girl for mom and dad to give me on my birthday. Sorry to hear about Bills passing. I worked with him for many years at Woolco. He was a great friend to all his fellow workers. I have not seen him since 86 when I left the store. Asked about him every chance I had
