Obituary

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, Yvonne Isabelle Curnew, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Ernest Curnew, and son in law, whom she shared a special bond, Gary Benmore. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories, her devoted daughter Bonnie (Gerard Walsh); three very special granddaughters: Allison (Christopher Skinner), Haley, and Kristyn; great grandson Ryan, and sister in law Elsie French. Also leaving to mourn her son Derek (Rose) and daughter Glenna (Donald Penney).
A very special thank you to Dr. Robert Woodland for his many years of care to mom. As well to the staff of 3 North at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their exceptional care. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday November 16 from 4-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday November 17 at 11 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date.
Mom had a passionate love for animals, therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations to an animal charity of one’s choice would be graciously accepted.

Bonnie and girls….I am so very sorry about your mom/Nanny’s passing. I watched you for years as you took care of both your mom and dad. You have shown so much love to them and they for you. I know how hard it was for you to watch your mom decline but also know how hard it is to loose her. I was honored to have been her home care worker even for a short time as she was so easy to love. You ladies are in my thoughts and prayers…
