Obituary

Anna Maria (Marie) O’Neill passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the L.A. Miller Centre, age 85 years. Predeceased by her parents Owen and Bridget Duffy, husband Eamon, infant daughter Andrea, and brother Anthony. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her son Sean (Denise), brother Frank (Christina), and numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Marie developed many close friends and impacted many people through her good humour, joy of life and world class hospitality. Her homeland of Bundorragha, Ireland was near and dear to her heart. Here, she loved and treasured spending time with family, friends and neighbours, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the Delphi mountains. Marie will be laid to rest in Ireland, next to her beloved husband overlooking the Killary Harbour. She will be deeply missed and remain forever in our hearts.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Miller Centre’s palliative care unit, Eastern Health Social Workers, the staff at Rosemore Homecare services, Community Health Nurse Lori, and Dr. Bourgeois. A very special thank you to Dr. Drover, the most loving and compassionate family doctor who went above and beyond to take care of Marie. Your kindness and care has been a great support to the family. Sean and Denise — We were so very sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. Thinking of you, and all those who loved her. May you find strength in the memories. With deepest sympathy.

Condolences to Sean and Denise and the entire family. She was such a sweet lady. Take care of yourselves and each other during this difficult time.

My condolences to your family Sean. Sad to see another KL person take that final journey. May God bless her

Sean and Denise,,

It was a. great pleasure to get to know Marie not only as your Mom but also as a wonderful neighbour and friend. Over the years we shared many meals and special occasions at your home and over time Marie affectionately became known to us as ‘Mum’. Her daily walks were always interrupted to have a little chit chat or to say hi to ’the girls’. We will miss her presence greatly.

The wonderful thing about memories are you can carry them in your heart forever and I know Marie’s will surely bring a smile.

Thoughts, prayers and hugs to you at this difficult time.

Sean and Denise,

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. If there is anything you need, please feel free to let me know.

Sean, Denise and family may you find peace at this difficult time. Look after one another and share your mom’s memory often. I only got to meet your parents once but it was very clear where you received your kind heart from Sean.
Big hugs,
Michelle
