Passed suddenly but peacefully at home. Among the wide circle of people who loved and will always carry him in their hearts are sisters Arielle and Robin Hogan, mother Holly Hogan, father Mike Basha, step-father Michael Crummey, grandmothers Mary Basha and Mazie Crummey, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to count. Emma MacDonald was his first love, the love of his life.
Ben was many things to many people—a Ravens fan, night owl, ace tennis player, terrible driver, enthusiastic chair dancer, compassionate ear, cookie chef, committed MUN student, prankster, storyteller, a loyal son, brother and friend. He excelled at sports of all kinds, but his favourite sport was making people laugh. His irrepressible love of life touched everyone he knew and made all of our lives bigger.
Resting at Carnell’s funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 12 -2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m. Saturday, November 9th.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10th, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at The Gazebo at Clovelly Golf Course. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to Epilepsy Canada or Epilepsy Newfoundland & Labrador (www.epilepsynl.com).
If a big heart alone was enough to sustain him, he would have lived forever. Hasta mañana, Ben.
