Aunt Bernice – we’ll miss you so much.
When she and Uncle Frank lived on Ross Road. we always had room and board while visiting St John’s.
They loved to pamper the younger generation – it
could be a turkey dinner in mid-summer with ‘lemon
snow’ for dessert.
-and about the cherry cakes and Christmas puddings
(whether we lived in NB,NS,Alberta or Manitoba)
-they always arrived on time for Xmas dinner
Rest in peace

Mrs.Bartlett as she will always be known to me as was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. Growing up on Ross Road she was a dear family friend living next to my Great Aunt Phyllis and Great Uncle George. When I was younger I used to deliver the Newfoundland Herald around the neighborhood and every week could count on her to invite me in for a snack, chat, and a little tip left in the envelope she would give me. During the winters when it would snow I would make the walk up the hill and shovel her driveway and walkway. She would always give me good money for this and thinking back definitely gave way more than was deserved for the job I did hahaha. I have very fond memories of Mrs.Bartlett that I will cherish. My heart breaks hearing of her passing.

Condolences to the family and may she Rest In Peace.

Bernice was my Moms roomate at Glenbrook Lodge and I enjoyed getting to know her these past few months. She was such a sweet lady and spunky too! She always made me laugh. I will miss her. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones. Rest peacefully Bernice

To the relatives of Bernice.
I got to know Bernice at Glenbrook Lodge over the past year. She was always happy when I came in to visit my husband and brought in my gardening tools. She would join me every time she could to weed and clean up the beds in the brookside garden, she was a joy, she loved the garden and watched from her window when the weather was too cold.
She was a lovely lady and I shall miss chatting with her. God Bless.
Wendy Mercer

May you rest in paradise my condolences to your family

My condolences to Bernice’s family. What a wonderful lady we sat across from each other at St . Augustine’s church for years and got to be friends. She was such a comfort to me when my mom was ill and I looked forward to her kind words every Sunday. Shirley &Bill Fennemore

A wonderful person and a wonderful friend of my mother. Many fond memories of her and her husband Frank coming by either for a cup of tea in the afternoon or for Dinner. Always had a smile on her face and a story to tell. She has a special place in my memory. God bless, Mrs. B. you shall certainly be missed.

My sincere condolences to Mrs Bartlett’s family and friends on her passing. I’m sure your hearts are broken with this loss. My thoughts are with you.

Mrs Bartlett was a dear friend and a longtime card club member with my mom (Violet McDonald), June , Phyllis, Eileen ,and Ruth, a force to be reckoned with but great fun!! I even got to fill in for someone on times they couldn’t make it and boy did I learn from the best!!

I’m so happy Mrs Bartlett got to live a beautiful long life, and I hope she got to play cards at Glennbrooke Lodge. Mrs Bartlett loved to entertain and brought out her best China for club at her house!! I was young but I remember it so well. We lived on Ayre Place and I’d often stop over to see her and Mr. Bartlett on Ross Road. She was always dressed elegantly and smiled with her heart. She gave the best hugs too!

My mom would likely be greeting her as she arrived in heaven and if there are cards in heaven, they are likely having a game!!

RIP Mrs Bartlett, fly high with the angels and into the arms of the people gone before you. You will forever have a special place in my childhood memories and my heart. ????
Love, Regina
