Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce that Brenda passed away at Toronto General Hospital from complications arising from her double lung transplant on May 13, 2018. She was a beloved partner, mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Predeceased by her infant daughter, parents Marjorie and Morley Pinsent and nephew James Pinsent.
Brenda grew up in Broad Cove, Trinity Bay and spent most of her adult life in St John’s, last working at the Health Sciences Centre. Brenda enjoyed travelling and gardening. She took great pleasure in baking and creating family dinners.
Leaving to mourn their loss while treasuring their memories are her life partner Rick Kenny, beloved son Nicholas, her extended Kenny family members, especially Ryan, Casandra and Aniya, her seven siblings Marie Smith (Max), Baxter Pinsent (Yvonne), Agnes Jackson (Cyril), Wayne Pinsent (Jean), Ruby Shapiro (Richard), Gary Pinsent (Cathie), Brian Pinsent (Paula) , along with her many nieces, nephews and friends Marg, Nancy, and Claudette.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday, June 11 from 9am-1pm, with the funeral service following in the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 1pm.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to Alpha-1 Canada.

Why you had to leave us at such a young age, we will never know. I guess HE had a plan for you. I have known you for many, many years, and you were a strong, kindred, caring soul who adored your son Nicholas and lived and loved life. I am so sorry for your loss Rick and Nicholas and all families and friends close to Brenda- you were the light in her eyes and the thump in her heart. Please keep her in your minds, souls and hearts; I will do the same. I will love you forever my little friend, fly with the angels now!!!

I’ve been doing Brenda’s hair for many years. She was always so supportive and such an incredible person. She always brightened my day and I will forever be thankful for having known such an amazing woman. I will never forget Brenda’s kindness and she will truly be missed.
