Obituary
It is with deep love and great sadness that we the family say goodbye to our beloved Brian Quilty who passed peacefully away in the arms of his angel. Predeceased by his parents William Quilty and Annie Mae O’Brien; He leaves behind with broken hearts his angel and devoted wife Joy; the lights of his life, daughters: Melanie (Geoff) and Brittany (Matthew); beautiful granddaughter Taya. Remembered also by a large circle of family and friends, too countless to name. The family want the staff of the Waterford Hospital and the Satelite Unit to know how forever grateful that they are for their kindness, compassion and support. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday December 20 from 3-9 p.m. and Saturday December 21 from 10- 2 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday December 21 from the Anglican Cathedral at 4:00 p.m. with cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NL.

It’s been many years since we spoke and over 40 years since we worked together at Sobeys. I only had known Brian a little. (He bought a motorcycle from me around 1985)
I know several of the folks who wrote in here which shows what a small community we are.

My loving caring daughter, her devotion to her children and husband Brian especially since his illness and hospitalisation is beyond reproach.
On your wedding day you took a vow before God to love and to honour in sickness and in health, this vow you are surely keeping.
Remember also that God will not lay a burden on your shoulders that you are not able to carry.

Joy and family so sorry for such a terrible loss. Brian was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed by all who had the chance to know him! I only new you both for a few short months( I was a cleaner on the floor Brian was on), but you both touched my heart dearly., you both had a love that I have never seen before and was so happy to witness!

To sad to think about. Such a great person. Last time I saw you was at the St. John’s regatta we had a great laugh a true gentleman. Joy there are no words to ease the pain in times like this. Take comfort in knowing you have a lot of family Who love you very much and friends who are there for you.
