Words cannot express how deeply saddened and heartbroken we are with the loss of our beautiful, fun loving, sweet friend.
Carol will always be remembered for her infectious smile and vibrant personality. No matter what was going on she always had a big smile on her face and could make even the worse situation seem like nothing at all, I always loved her for that.
Growing up in Baie Verte would not have been quite the same without her being a big part of my life, especially in the summer months when I believe I spent more time with the Philpott’s than I did with my own family, and I was always treated like a part of the family.
Carol will be missed by all who had the privilege who knew her, just keep all the memories close and remember all the good that she did, Stay strong.
Rest in peace my loving sweet friend
Love always’

To the Battcock and Philpott families , We are shocked and saddened to hear of Carol’s passing and our thoughts and prayers are with you .

To the Battcock and Philpott Families,

I am very saddened to here of Carol’s passing.
Like others growing up in Baie Verte, my teenage years involved many memories of Carol and the large friend group we shared. She was a beautiful, smart talented and determined young woman and from all accounts continued to exemplify that by living her life to her fullest possible potential. She is true inspiration for others.

You are all in the thoughts of my family at this difficult time.

Susan ( Blagdon) Drover

My condolences to Carol’s husband, children, mother and siblings.

The Carol I know was from child to young adult.
We shared much of of time our time and our families with each other. I was truly blessed with a good friend and another family.
Carol was strong, she was fun loving, a confidente, a partner in crime and she lived life to its fullest….that’s how I remember her.

The opportunity to look back and reminisce with her is lost.

I imagine, as a wife and a mother, she was as strong, driven and full of life as the Carol I knew. A devastating loss to her family. I pray that her memories will be shared by those who love her; keeping her forever close.

All Is Well
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,

Speak to me in the easy way which you always used

Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.

-Henry Scott Holland

Dear Steve and family, Dave and Family. Jim and I are so sorry for you all! As time passes your memories and laughs you shared will be there to bring smiles back! Sending love and prayers .

To: Aunt Mary, Don, David, AnneMarie, John, Cathy, Brian, Rob, and all your families;
To: Carol’s husband, her children, and the Battcock families;
We have no words to express our deepest sorrow, hence,

I Am Free,

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following paths God made for me
I took his hand, I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace … at close of play

And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened… deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full I’ve savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one’s touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now
He set me free.

Deepest Sympathy

No one better than God, understands the depth of your pain and can help you cope with your disquieting thoughts. Thus, I hope that in due time your family receives God’s peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. Rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 which reads: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” He promised that in the Paradise, we will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all problems, accidents, and sickness. Even our dead loved ones like Carol will be resurrected. (Psalm 37:9, 29; John 5:28, 29) With all my sympathy for the loss of someone so cherished.

I was very saddened to hear of Carol’s passing. Carol was a great classmate and an awesome teammate in sports during our high school years. I am glad I got to see her a few years back and connect with her. I will always remember her beautiful personality and infectious smile. Thoughts and prayers are being sent to her family. Fly with the angels my friend.

I hope her amazing strength and love bring you comfort. She lives on in all of you, and the countless lives she touched.

To Carol’s family- Carol was the type of person who when she met you, she stopped,, genuinely cared, asked how you were and truly listened. She always met you with a smile and your conversations with her were filled with laughter. She loved to laugh, it was infectious. I will always remember her beautiful laughter. You didn’t even need to ask about her family- she loved to talk about them with such pride and love- it was easy to see. She was a warm, loving girl who will be young and beautiful forever. She was taken way too soon. God bless Carol’s family.

There are very few people in my lifetime that have touched my heart like Carol. She was a vibrant personality, and truly loved caring for other people. She loved her family so very much, loved talking about them, lighting up everytime she did. She made such an impact on my family and I’m sure many more through her work, and we shared a beautiful connection of sharing memories growing up in the same hometown. I will carry you forward forever in my heart Carol, I’m so sorry. Much love and prayers to you and your beautiful family. Xoxo

To the Battcock and Philpott families:
I’m so sad to hear the news about Carol. My memories of her were from high school, where she was a model student and outstanding athlete, leading St. Plus to provincial championships. She and I also worked together in the summers as lifeguards. She was a star swimmer in those days, winning so many races it was almost a foregone conclusion each time she jumped in the pool. I remember her great attitude, wonderful smile and sense of humour – just a great person to be around. She will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the family. So shocked to hear of Carol’s passing

Dear Steve and your children, Mrs. Philpott, Catherine, Dave, John, Brian, Anne Marie, Robbie, and Don,

I am so saddened by Carol’s passing and know that your hearts must be broken to lose such an incredible soul. Carol was like another sister to me, and the entire Philpott family was my second family growing up. I felt blessed to reconnect with Carol this past October, and since then we filled pages and pages of texts with our almost-daily conversations about absolute silliness, stories from our childhood–which Carol described as “incredibly happy”–geeky photos from school and swim team, and laughed until our sides hurt. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met, and I mean ever. She let me know on Christmas Day that she was so happy to be surrounded by family and friends and wanted to make sure that I had the same. She was so incredibly positive, and she loved so hard, and that will be her legacy.

You have left the world a better place. Your laugh, your smile will never be forgotten. We all know that your family and friends will miss you , so we extend many blessing to each and every one.. We have been all blessed to have you in our lives.

To all of Carol’s family and friends:

My deepest sympathies in the loss of your cherished Carol. Carol’s courage, strength and love spread faith and hope in all that is good. May all of your stories of times shared and memories of Carol throughout the years hold you and comfort you and continue to spread her light with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Many Blessings.
