Dear Tony and family. We are saddened by your loss and are thinking of you. We have so many happy memories of Kate dating back to the mummer’s visits on Boxing day, wonderful Irish Newfoundland association events, and any social occasion we shared. Kate was a talented and kind person and she knew how to make life fun and happy. She shared that with everyone. Her gorgeous smile lit up any gathering. One memory that is special for us is seeing Kate and Tony dancing together- you could see their partnership in love so clearly. May she rest in peace.

Lauren and I are so sad to hear about Kate’s passing. Above all, we remember with fondness and gratitude the good times we shared, and the guidance we received, during our time in Asia. May she rest in peace.

Tony, we were devastated when you told us the sad news last week when we met on the bridge! We had no idea, Kate was so sick, and were almost speechless. We cannot tell you how very sad we are that Kate has left us. We both have the fondest memories of her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and a special friend to so many. She was so kind to Adam and Lauren in Bangkok, you both were, and we always appreciated that. I know you and your family will miss her terribly. We all will. Our world has lost a kind and gentle person, a true friend to us all. Kate was a woman who accomplished so much, and would have continued to do so. I am truly looking forward to reading her last book, having enjoyed the first one so much. I am so happy that she was able to finish it. I’m sure it meant a huge amount to both of you. We will all remember her, Tony, Kate will not be forgotten by her family or her friends. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time., Carolyn and Gary Butler

Joyce and I are very sorry to hear of Kate’s death and send our sincerest sympathies. Although we have not had a lot of contact in recent years, our thoughts go back to the time we established the Irish Newfoundland Association to share in the Irish American Cultural Institute’s Irish Fortnight. Kate’s input in 1977 and 1978 events were especially appreciated and continued in the years after we came back to Ireland. Suaimhneas siorai da hanam uasal.

My most sincere condolences to the Evans family on the very sad loss of your wife, Mom, and grandmother. Mrs. Evans was such a beautiful person – interesting and interested – to all and in all around her. I dearly loved our conversations on the occasions I have seen her since our school years. When I bought my house she had me over to figure out what I needed as she was getting ready to move on from Glenridge Crescent. Always kind, thoughtful, generous and uplifting – a bright light has certainly gone out. May she rest in peace.
