Obituary

Passed peacefully away at home in the presence of her loving family, Catherine Jarvis, aged 66 years. Leaving behind with broken hearts her beloved husband of 50 years Don; children Donald Joseph (Rose), Linda Turley (Patrick), Tammy Jarvis-Anstey (Kenneth) and Krista Jarvis-Murray (Gerald); 4 handsome grandsons Stephen, Daniel, Patrick and Gabriel Jarvis; 3 amazing granddaughters Meghan, Kendelle and McKaylia Anstey (and Rimasha); the light of her life grandson Kalem Jarvis-Murray; and 1 great grandchild; special friends Mary Kerrivan and Dawn Doody; also a large circle of many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. A special thank you to Ambulatory Care Team at the HSC; Dr. David Jones, Dr. Jacklyn Costello, Dr. Grandy and Dr. MacIntyre for their care and support shown towards Catherine. Also to the Transplant team in Nova Scotia, Dr. Sparrow Bella and Dr. Kubin. Words cannot express how grateful we are towards everyone in Catherine’s life during the last few years, especially Dr. Bill Eaton in the last few weeks. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon until 9 p.m. Christian Mass will be held at The Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Thursday November 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. with cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Cancer Transplant Team or the NL Autism Society.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. J passing. I enjoyed her love and spirit and her dedication to helping Kalem in his life’s journey with Autism. I will miss seeing you. I was so sure when I was talking to you yesterday that Kat will still be here for another while but I guess Jesus had other plans for her. The world has lost, but heaven has gained a ray of sunshine through Catherine’s passing. Death is only a bridge towards eternal life with God. Heaven is rejoicing for another soul has finally reached her true home. Our hearts are saddened to hear such a loss of someone so dear. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
