Obituary

Passed peacefully away at her residence on Thursday, August 11, 2016, Catherine (Kay) Scheeler, age 82 years. Predeceased by her father and mother, Tom and Annie Connors; husband Adam; son, Thomas (Mick); grandson James Albert Scheeler; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Mary Connors; brother-in-law, Jack Clancey; nephew Keith Clancey and son-in-law Richard Grace. Leaving to mourn 2 sons: Richard (Butch) (wife Sheila) and Karl (wife Peggy); 4 daughters: Heather (Dave Tucker), Arleen (Tony Coady), Dot (Robert Breen) and Leona (Ed Parsons); Also special daughter/granddaughter, Wanda Lee Penney (husband Albert) with whom she resided along with her 2 great grandchildren: Ethan and Ally Penney; also holding wonderful memories are her 15 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 10 great grandsons; 4 great granddaughters; 1 great-great grandson; also leaving behind 2 sisters: Anna Clancey and Gloria Walsh (Gord); 1 brother, Wayne Connors and special niece Thomasine Connors-Spurrell; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Also leaving to mourn family and friends from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1, Kelly and Kathryn from Community Health, and home care workers Natalie, Jennifer, and Lilly. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, August 13th, 2016, and Sunday, August 14th, 2016. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 15th, 2016 at Corpus Christi, at 11:30 a.m. Refreshments to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1. Inurnment will take place on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016 at 10 a.m., in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted. Karl I only found out tonight of your mom’s passing. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I’m glad I got to know her a little before she passed. She was one strong lady! God love her, God bless her. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to read of Kay’s passing. I fondly remember her from the old General & HSC, she was a special lady who always had a smile or joke to tell. My thoughts are with all of you.

To everyone that left cards,flowers,food donations and of off the kind words,mom was truly a wonderful lady very active in everything she was involved with,I will miss her forever but i couldn’t keep her,God had other plans for her.Time will heal my broken heart again thank you to the many people who visited mom and all the kind words and sharing stories with us.Love and miss you mom Dot????

So sad to see aunt Kay pass away. I remember Kay taking me and my brother to Flordia. It was one of the most memorable time of my life. I also remember going to her house every Chrismas and getting amazing stockings that Kay had prepared. She will always hold a special place in my heart and will be missed by so many.

My sympathy to all family members on the passing of a wonderful lady.

To your family, I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Kay. She was a wonderful lady. I will miss her terribly. Find comfort within one another and cherish the memories you made over the years. So sorry for you loss, may she be at peace now and watch over all you.

We are very sorry to hear the news and we want to extend our sympathies and condolences, especially to Ethan and Alley. It was wonderful to meet her and to see how much she loved her family and how much they loved her. She had enormous strength, and now she has passed the torch.
