Obituary
Passed peacefully away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Predeceased by her husband, Leo (2007), and her parents, Solomon and Ethel Vokey, brothers, Nathan and Randell, sister, Myra and her twin sister, Jean. She leaves with fond and loving memories her children, Marilyn (Bill) Follett, Beverly (Eric) Bussey, and Clyde (Elizabeth) Green; grandchildren, Craig and Sarah Jane Follett, Jason and Erica Bussey, and Jennifer, Gordon and Gary Green; sister Ruby (Wilfred) Rees; brother-in-law Jim Sullivan; sisters-in-law Sharon (Harold) Bussey and Gail Green , special friend, Ruby Abbott, and a large circle of nieces, nephews ,and friends. Special thank you to Dr. Patrick O’Shea and caregivers, Sue, Johanne and Paska for the compassion and comfort they showed our mother. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd, St. John’s on Saturday and Sunday, May 5th and 6th, 10 am – 9 pm.
Flowers are welcomed, or donations may be made in Cavell’s memory to the Anglican Cathedral Choral Fund. Funeral Service will be held from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Monday May 7th, 2018 at 11 am, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery on Forest Road.

I am so sorry that I am unable to be with you to share you sorrow in the loss of your mom and my dearest friend. She was a very special mom and grandmother, so loving and kind. She was a devoted friend to me and my family. She treated me as one of her own. I have so many memories of our times we spent together the many summers we spent together, so much fun and many gallons of bake apples Leo and Larry brought home for us to clean and put away for the winter. There is so much I could say to the family I’m sure we will sit and reminisce over all the special occasions we showed together. This is only one of the many memories that I will always cherish. Life will not be the same without her but the precious memories we have of her will take the sharp edge of our aching hearts. Love and prayers Ruby
