Obituary
Charles (Andy) George Anderson was born in Humboldt, SK on September 3, 1921. At age 99, he passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion (CMVP) on April 8, 2021. He served as a Signalman in the Canadian Navy during WWII and met his wife Grace of 74 years while stationed in St. John’s, NL. After the war, they moved to Humboldt for 7 years, where he began his lifelong career with CN Railway. In 1952, they transferred to Toronto where they lived until they returned to St. John’s in 2006 to be close to family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Grace Anderson (nee Pennell), parents George and Helen Anderson, eight siblings, and son-in-law Terence Crawford. Left to celebrate his life is daughter Carla Crawford; grandchildren Skye (Rocky) and Ryan; great grandchildren Alexander and Anna; sister-in-law Betty and family; brother-in-law Boyd; brother-in-law Eddie (Anne); along with numerous friends and family. To the nurses, doctors and staff at the CMVP, you were all so kind and caring to Andy and family, thank you for all you do. At Andy’s request, cremation has taken place at Carnell’s with no visitation. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada.
Carla, so sorry to hear of your dear fathers passing, he was always a real gentleman lived a long life.
Deepest condolences
My family and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Anderson Family. We got to know Andy as he was a comrade of my Dad (Vince Butler).
My husband Matt and Andy always chatted about sports, checking in with one another about who was playing that night. Between Matt and Nathan they always made sure Andy was in tune to the game of the night.
We had many chats with Grace as we passed one another coming and going through the doors of DVA over the years.
It was only fitting that when dad passed Andy was given Dad’s room, he was such a gentleman, and truly appreciated moving into his private room
We visited Andy, usually on his birthday, and he never forgot us. He was gentle and kind and now deserves to be with his wife Grace. God Bless you both.

My condolences to Andy’s family.. it was a pleasure to know Andy and Grace over the years. I use to love having chats with him and making him laugh. The residents all thought the world of him. He will be sadly missed by all. God bless you Andy and your family.
After meeting your Pop and Dad several times I can say that he was a gentle soul with a twinkle in his eye. Your wonderful memories will always be with you and it was obvious that he loved you guys dearly. Our deepest condolences are with you all.
