Obituary
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Cyril Murphy. After a truly courageous battle with cancer, Cyril passed peacefully away in the presence of his family. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, soulmate and best friend, Wilhelmena Murphy (Hayman). Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Murphy, and sister Gertie, Open Hall. Left with loving memories; (3) Children, Dwayne (Debbie), Craig, Hayman (Crystal). (7) Precious Grandchildren, Madisen, Megan, Jonathan, Kyle, Clea, Kendra, Hayman j. Cyril’s Siblings, left with broken hearts; Babs (Aiden) O’Reilly, Dorothy (Rupert-deceased) Decker, Chris (Ken) Abbott, Pat (Allison) Murphy. The Hayman family, also left to mourn their brother-in-law; Marion and George Seymour (deceased), Marie (Bert-deceased) Hayward, Mary (Don) Squibb, Janet (Arch) Kearley, Alvina Hayman. Predeceased by Father and Mother-in-law, Benjamin and Cassie (Coley) Hayman. A Special mention of Cyril’s friends and family; Lena and Tim Connors, Wilhelmena and Don Hardy, and a close crew at DCH cranes.A sincere thanks to many of those who have been a crucial caring part of Cyril’s journey with cancer, especially Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. Doody, many nurses and caregivers along the way. To all that knew him, Cyril was a true gentleman. He was a well respected man of the community, industry and trades. He had a kind and generous soul. With a true love for animals (grand-fur-babies), gardening, movies, cranes, music and the sun. Cyril was a loved Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-law, and Friend. His kind smile and gentle heart, tough hands and strong will, remains forever in our hearts and memories. Cyril leaves a great legacy of hard work and dedication to his family, that will be remembered by everyone that knew him. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, December 1st, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Service will be taking place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 2nd, at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line, Torbay. While all care, concern and flowers are appreciated, as Cyril was an avid gardener, he was also a supporter of the Cancer Centre at the HSC. The care received time after time, smile after smile, made Cyril’s days there a little brighter. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Aunt Wilhelmena and family, I was very saddened to hear of Uncle Cyril’s passing. There are few words that can be said at times like this to make it any easier for you, but know that he has left us all a little more enriched. His strength and determination at anything he tackled was admirable, he always had patience and understanding when dealing with difficult situations, and his uncanny ability to laugh off something that would cause many people grief was remarkable. He was loved by all of those that surrounded him and will be remembered fondly. Love to you all at this time, Lemonte, Karen, Andrew, and Emily.
While we didn’t see each other frequently, I have nothing but fond memories of Uncle Cyril. I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Rest easy my friend. Sending love and condolences to Aunt Wilhelmena and the rest of the family in this difficult time.
We are sending our love to you all during this difficult time. A wonderful man has been lost, but his love for family will live on in you all forever. Let your memories give you strength.

My sincerest condolences to the Murphy family.. Cyril was the nicest kindest man you’d ever want to meet. I don’t know if there was a piece of equipment that he couldn’t fix, or operate and he took pride in everything he did and it showed. I had the pleasure of working with him and 2 of his sons, Haymen and Dwayne over the years. He will be forever sadly missed by many people in the construction industry.

I was lucky to have dealt with Cyril and his wife when they came to Torbay to build there beautiful new home. I was the Town Mgr. at that time and enjoyed dealing with him on his dream.
